Alberto Sartoris was an Italian rationalist architect, art historian and theorist of architecture. Between 1916 and 1919 he studied architecture at the School of Fine Arts in Geneva. In 1920 he joined the Futurist movement (until 1923). In 1928 he was a founding member of CIAM and participated in the castle of La Sarraz, with Le Corbusier. In 1938 he was associated with Terragni in designing a satellite town in Rebbio, Como (1938-1939). Among his works are the Morand-Pasteur house in Saillon, Valais (1933-1938). He taught art history in Switzerland and the United States. He published nearly 1,000 studies and produced some 800 projects (of which 50 were made).
