Branko Bon was Yugoslavia president Tito's favorite architect. He worked on many reconstructions like the one of the High School and Art Academy (1936) in Zagreb. Between 1936 and 1941 he designed villas (Bakarr, Korčula, Zagreb) and Palace Albanija in Belgrade.
Bon participated in National Liberation Movement of Yugoslavia in 1941. He was arrested and detained in Stara Gradiška concentration camp from 1942 to 1944. After the war he worked on training, adaptations and exteriors of many buildings. He got the first prize competition for National Committee of Communist of Yugoslavia building (1947) and the second prize for the Presidency of Yugoslav Government in Belgrade (with Galic, Šegvić and Augustinčić). He has designed numerous hotels (Tučepi, Krupanj, Kranjska Gora and Srebreno). He reconstructed complex St. Stefan near Budva. He made numerous monuments of the revolution like the Cemetery of the liberation of Belgrade, the monuments to the victims of fascist terror in Jajinc, for fallen soldiers in Žabljak and Opov.
